Practice for emerging readers – for use with Mat Man Individual Reader Set

Providing two practice pages for each letter and coordinating with its Reader, this workbook includes handwriting practice and letter sound reinforcement. It also prompts students to investigate story elements such as sequence of events, setting, and characters. In this Developing workbook drawings and sentence writing activities are used. These lessons require more handwriting, and the student is often encouraged to write sentences in both the letter sound reinforcement and in the story elements investigations. Drawing, however, is still an important element in addressing the questions raised.

By contrast, the Emerging workbook answers/response are largely drawings. Line spacing in the Developing book is 3/16″. Both uppercase and lowercase printing is required.
