Intro to Homeschooling

An info session for those curious about homeschool or new to homeschooling.

This event is offered on 4 different dates. Each session will have the same content, but be as unique as the people who come and bring their questions.

Join us for an engaging “Introduction to Homeschooling” event at The Homeschool Supply Co! This informative session is designed for new and prospective homeschooling families, and really anyone who is curious about what homeschooling looks like and how it could benefit their family. Come sit down with us and others just starting their homeschooling journey, and let us speak encouragement and empowerment into your next steps! It doesn’t have to feel overwhelming! We will pass out helpful informational handouts, discuss Washington state homeschool laws, various models of homeschooling, ideas for organizing your day and finding community. We want to answer any questions you may have.

This will be a casual, panel type discussion and Q&A led by experienced homeschooling moms, and we encourage you to dialogue with us as we chat about the realities and beauty of homeschooling. If you have a question or concern, its likely someone else has the same question! There are no dumb questions. This is a great opportunity for dads to come and learn more about homeschooling as well!

Please note- Yes, we are a curriculum store, but at this event we will not promote curriculum sales or specific programs. You are more than welcome to ask curriculum specific questions and browse the store while you are here, but there is no pressure or expectation to do so. We want info night to be an easy opportunity for those seeking information and support – no strings attached!

You are more than welcome to bring your kids, we have a dedicated playroom in the store and are very used to little ones underfoot. They are welcome. Please make sure you RSVP for them so we have enough snacks.

Introduction to Homeschooling- Info Night!

What is Info NIght?

Intro to Homeschool info night is an evening for those curious about homeschooling to come chat with experienced and supportive parents about homeschooling, ask questions, and find encouragement as they step into this world. Its also a great event to learn important information about laws in Washington state, how to pull your child from public school, how to report and follow the laws so you are homeschooling legally and safely. We hope to encourage you, provide insight and support and alleviate your worries and feared about homeschooling. We truly believe parents are the child’s BEST teacher- after all you were their first teacher! So we want you to leave feeling empowered and equipped.

What Are the Benefits of Attending

Maybe you feel like homeschooling is out of your reach, you’re ill equipped, you can’t possibly manage it all. Do you wonder if homeschooling can possibly help your child thrive? Maybe you feel overwhelmed with curriculum choices? Unsure about how to follow Washington state homeschool laws? We hope you will walk about with all those questions answered and a firm plan in place for your family.

How often do you host Info Nights?

We had 3 very successful Info nights last year, so this year we are growing to 4 nights! Each night will be the same except for all the unique people that choose to come and the questions and perspectives you bring!

Is there a cost to join?

Yes, we are charging $15 per family.

How many people can join?

We are able to host about 20 people at each meet up. Space is limited, so make sure you sign up in advance!

Where do I park?

Our lovely friends at Lifetime Celebrations right across the street, have opened up their parking lot to us in the evenings. You can also find street parking, or park at Bothell City Hall just a few blocks away.
