Learning to Love Literature: School Prep

Course Description:
We will read our way through beautiful, seasonal books- a mix of first chapter books and picture books, and follow up by practicing our language skills. Depending on the child’s skill level, they will practice with one of three options; tracing, copywork, or narration. We will follow up our language time with a fun activity linked to the story we are reading!
This class will continue all year long with quarterly registration.

Who:
Little students who are preparing for or just starting Elementary school, almost-kinder to 1st grade, roughly 5-8 years old.
There are 8 spots in this class.

Parent Attendance and Classroom Policies.(Required)

Our class policy requires that parents remain on the premises during class time; this is not a drop-off class. To ensure a comfortable experience, parents are welcome to use the sunroom while other children can enjoy the playroom. If a child needs assistance in the restroom, it is the parent’s responsibility to provide help, teachers and classroom helpers cannot help children in the restroom . Additionally, to guarantee a safe and secure environment, all classroom teachers have undergone thorough background checks. This policy is designed to foster a supportive and secure atmosphere for all participants.

We require one parent volunteer to be present for each class session. On the first day of class we will have a sign up sheet for parents to volunteer for 1 class day during the course to be the classroom assistant. In the case that you are unable to volunteer, reach out to us and we will try to accommodate.

We’d love permission to use photos that may include your child participating in classes for these purposes and (heres the legal jargon…) for any legal use, including but not limited to, publicity, copyright purposes, illustration, advertising and web content. Furthermore, I understand that no royalty, fee or other compensation shall become payable to me by reason of such use.

Meet the Instructor: Jennifer Scheiter

Jennifer is a seasoned homeschool mom of five boys. She and her husband, Chad, are passionate about homeschooling to the end and have graduated two boys already. She loves Jesus, books, being in nature with her family, and encouraging other moms in their homeschool journey.
